Even in the second half, Germany made a strong effort, but the Japanese defenders stopped it. As the game reached its final stage.. Ritsuo Don converted a penalty corner in the 75th minute to level the score at 1-1. Soon after, Takum Asano scored another goal to give Japan a 2-1 lead.

After that, no matter how much Germany tried, Japan did not give it a chance. The match between Morocco and Croatia as part of Group F ended in a poor draw. The Croatian team, which was the runner-up in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, did not shine much in this match.
