AR glasses will come with a unique Qualcomm chip in 2023
Qualcomm has just announced a new chipset called Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1. A milestone has been reached in the development of AR glasses. The Snapdragon AR2Gen1 is equipped differently than previous chips for augmented reality devices.
This processor is specially designed for thin and light AR glasses. The Snapdragon AR2 gen1 took a different approach than what was used in the initial system. A task is shared among three chips. This solves many of the problems that limit the functionality of AR classes.
The AR2 Gen 1 has a chipset with a processor, co-processor, and connectivity chip. It can interact with a smartphone chip for extra processing power. For a high-performance design with a large thermal envelope, the chips are distributed around the AR glasses.
Qualcomm Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 is manufactured using a 4nm manufacturing process for high speed, low latency, and very low power requirements. It also has many uses. Moreover, it takes a lot. Made by electricity is less mysterious.
It powers most standalone VR headsets. AR doubles as certain tasks. It supports fast connection 7800 and is very useful for wifi 7. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 could be the missing ingredient to make all of this possible in the near future.
The company is expecting AR glasses that work as standalone devices in the second half of 2023, powered by the Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1. Limitations in the processing are very strict. The exact launch dates for these next-generation AR glasses are unknown, but Qualcomm has shared them with 12 manufacturers.
Computer-generated graphic overlays must be placed. It should scale quickly and appear to fit in your real-world environment with enough fidelity to be useful and attractive. Those already working on AR devices powered by Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 include Lenovo, LG, Nreal, OPPO, Pico, Qonoq, Rokid, Sharp, TCL, Tencent, Vuzix, and Xiaomi.
It’s the immediate response that makes AR Glass worth using. The exact launch dates of these next-generation AR glasses are not known.
