Eating late at night raises cravings, Promotes Fat burning. 42 percent of adults in the United States are obese. But 650 million people worldwide are obese. Obese adults have a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular disease, some types of cancer, diabetes and Covid-19.
It has been found that the recommendations for weight loss, such as reducing diet and increasing physical exercise, are only tentative. A new chapter published in Cell Metabolism shows that late eating affects players in body weight control.
According to senior author Frank A. J. L. Scheer, Ph.D., Director of the Medical Chronobiology Researchers at Brigham’s and Women’s Hospital tested the mechanisms that might explain “why eating late increases the risk of obesity”. Eating late has been shown to be associated with obesity, increased body fat, and success in weight loss.
The chapter included 16 patients with a body mass index in the overweight-obese range who each completed two separate routines- a study by Vujovic, Scheer, and their colleagues. One with an earlier meal schedule and another with the same meal each scheduled about four hours later. Blood samples and adipose tissue were taken from study participants. Their hunger and appetite were recorded during the afternoon.
Eating late has a significant effect on the appetite-regulating chemicals leptin and green.The results showed that eating late has a huge effect on hormones that regulate appetite. Controls our drive before we eat. Later eaters burn calories more slowly and are genetically modified to promote adipose tissue production while simultaneously reducing fat breakdown.
Leptin, a hormone that tells us when we’re full, decreased over 24 hours in the late eating group compared to the early eating group. Although the researchers controlled for confounding variables such as caloric intake, sleep and physical activity in the study, Scheer said many of these factors may actually be influenced by meal timing.
The mechanisms that explain why late eating increases the risk of obesity have been tested. We are curious why evening snacking increases the risk of obesity, increases body fat and weight loss success.
