Overwatch 2’s mid-season patch is overdue
Overwatch 2’s: Lizard has been dealing with all kinds of bugs since the release of Overwatch 2 and in some cases, players had to remove certain characters from the game to prevent them from using exploits in the game.
Mei is the most recent hero to disappear from the roster, and now she won’t be back for another two days. That’s right — the mid-season patch is officially delayed.
While the original announcement stated the delay would be indefinite, today’s update at 4:00 PM PST tells us we only have to wait until the end of the week.
Because the new ETA for the patch is this Friday, November 17th at 11:00 am PST Whoops, don’t scare us like that, Blizzard. The patch includes “balance changes, bug fixes, including those affecting Mei,” as well as “core content updates.”
The delay will also affect “the rotation of cosmetics in the Overwatch League shop, as well as the delivery of Overwatch League viewership incentives & perks from postseason matches between October 30 – November 4.
Daily and weekly challenges will also reset to normal today, along with a “standard shop refresh”. Thanks Things aren’t as bleak as they actually seem, as the game never feels the same when any of the heroes are missing.
After Bastion was removed a few weeks ago for balance changes, the internet was flooded with memes, including some hilariously edited missing person (omnix?) posters. I’m a little torn about Mei’s disappearance.
On the one hand , I miss the chaos of having an unhinged mei player on my team. But I sure don’t miss getting and being frozen, walled, and icicle-headed. Regardless, the two-day wait is nothing, and our favorite arctic scientist will soon be here. E returns to the correct position.
