Star James Harden was fired for hitting a Nets player in the groin
76ers guard James Harden was ejected after committing 2 fouls in Game 3 vs. the Nets on Thursday night. In the third quarter, Harden advanced toward the basket when he elbowed Nets forward Royce O’Neal in the groin.
O’Neal appeared to react in pain to the jab as officials called Harden a flagrant 2nd foul. 2 flagrant fouls in the NBA will result in an automatic ejection.
Before exiting the game, Harden led the 76ers with 21 points. He also grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists in 29 minutes of play.
The 76ers currently hold a 2-0 lead in the first-round series. Thursday night’s game was chippy after Brooklyn’s Nick Claxton was handed a flagrant 1 foul on 76ers center Joel Embiid after he went over him. Embiid wasn’t ejected for this foul.
Claxton was ejected in the fourth quarter after picking up his second technical foul of the game.
