The Jonas Brothers brought ‘Waffle House’ with them to the ‘Tonight Show’
The Jonas Brothers took to the steps of Tuesday’s Tonight Show to perform an acoustic version of their new single “Waffle House” with The Roots. The “Musical Staircase” section features Nick and Joe Jonas on lead vocals, with Mark Kelly on cello, “Captain” Kirk Douglas, and Kevin Jonas on guitar.
The track was released in April and pays homage to a restaurant the brothers saw in their “Sanctuary” growing up. “It’s a place of ideas we’ve dreamed up, a place where we’ve worked through our problems together and we’ve realized that we can find our way through anything as long as we come together,” the band said in a statement.
“Waffle House” previewed their record The Album on May 12th. In February, the Jonas Brothers released the first single, “Wings”, from the group’s sixth studio album. The new album leans towards seventies themes, inspired by what made the Bee Gees so successful.
“They were a huge influence in our lives, growing up and listening to them with my dad,” Kevin said in an interview with Variety. “And obviously, us growing up as three brothers in a band, we definitely understood the similarities.” The album will be followed by Happiness Begins, released in 2019.
And replaced their creative partnership with Ryan Tedder on Happiness Begins with a new approach with songwriter Jon Bellion.
