Iga Swiatek beats Ons Jabeur to win her first US Open title in New York in 2022.

The triumph became Swiatek, 21, the first woman to win two Grand Slams in a single season since 2016 following she clinched the French Open in June.

Iga Swiatek, the world’s top player, defeated Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in straight sets in the US Open final on Saturday to win her second Grand Slam championship of the year. Fifth seed Jabeur put up a strong fight in the second set, but Polish star Swiatek won 6-2, 7-6 (7/5) in 1 hour and 52 minutes at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

First, she won the French Open in June. The triumph became Swiatek, 21, the 1st woman to win two Grand Slams in a single season since 2016. With her tenth career victory, Swiatek continued to dominate in title fights. She lucky streak now stands at ten finals without a set defeat.

She said, “At the beginning of the season, I realized that maybe I could produce some excellent performances on WTA events. In terms of numbers, Iga Swiatek won her tenth straight championship in straight sets.
It’s definitely something I wasn’t expecting. For me, it also serves as assurance that the sky is the limit.
I’m pleased to have been able to achieve that, as well as a touch proud and surprised.

In those critical times, Swiatek said, “I’m really happy with the fact that emotionally I’m not kind of breaking up. “Even if I lose the game, I could not regret because I know I give it my best.

I am happy with that, mentally as well as tennis-wise, I have more options on the court than I had before.

“I’m really proud of that because I know how it feels to be on the court without even any ideas or a way to improve the match. Right now, it has been a while since I had no idea.
