Yellowjackets’ Season 2 Gets Jason Ritter to Guest Star with Wife Melanie Lynskey (EXCLUSIVE)
This year, married couple Jason Ritter and Melanie Lynskey will star together on screen for the second time this year. Ritter is set to guest star in an episode of the upcoming second season of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets.” Earlier this year, Ritter appeared in Peacock’s “Candy,” directed by Lynskey.
At the time, she told Variety that she felt good about him being on set. “He’s such a wonderful actor and a really nice guy. When I came back to work, everyone was like, ‘Your husband’s such a nice guy!’ “It makes me look smarter like I picked a great partner,” she says.
“It’s fun to work with someone who’s really nice, creative and interesting, and different, and that’s what he does. He is also good at improvisation. It’s hard because we’re trying to support each other while the other is working. Both of us are full-time. If anything works, it’s hard.
I can already feel the nanny struggling while I’m at work!” Ritter, repped by The Burstein Company and CAA, will next appear on Fox in Howard Gordon’s anthology series, “Alleged.” Lynskey, who plays close-up Shana on the series, called her character “confidence and tenacity” with Variety.
“Shauna is my role model, and I hope to one day – be without all the murders,” she said. It helped her process things in her own life. “In my day-to-day life, I cry all the time, and about them when they happen I will speak I can’t make small talk.
It’s hard to play someone who doesn’t talk about anything and doesn’t deal with anything because what I want to talk about is people’s trauma and horrible things that happen if I were that person there are times when I want to scream out loud, she won’t let herself.” Ritter is a brand new addition to Season 2.
Showtime previously announced that Elijah Wood will appear as City Detective Walter. I’ve, starring Simone Kessel as the adult Lottie and Lauren Ambrose as the adult Van. The show has already been renewed for Season 3.
The second season debuts March 24 for all streaming and on-demand Showtime subscribers, premiering two days earlier on Showtime at 9 p.m. ET. Produced by Studio Entertainment One, “Yellowjackets” was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson.
