Wé was a total rock star on ‘American Idol’
When Wé Ani entered Disney’s Aulani Resort, she wasn’t there to chill and take snaps. The Harlem native is one of the top 26 contestants on American Idol 2023.
On Monday night (April 17), there was nothing left as the shows were called off in Hawaii. With her father watching from the following, Ani nails her rendition of “Edge of Midnight,” Miley Cyrus’ Plastic Hearts number 2020.
Combining Gemstone’s energy with her big, bluesy lyrics, Ani jumps into the house. Before the season, Ani wowed the judges with her research, her high-pitched speaking voice turned into crème brûlée with a performance of Demi Lovato’s “Every,” Lionel Richie later said.
“This class is ridiculous. And I don’t want to put you in a ridiculous order, but it’s ridiculous. The element of surprise is easily missed because she’s surprised the judges again in the past.
During Hollywood Week, she debuted an original song called “Good For.” The 24-time singer has more than 700,000 followers on TikTok, set up sympathizers on Idol, and has previously given some amazing and funny moments on Idol season 21.
