West Ham joint-chairman David Gold has died aged 86 after a short illness
West Ham United joint-chairman David Gold died this morning after a brief illness. The 86-year-old supported West Ham all his life before taking over the club in January 2010. He oversaw a consistent spell in European football for the Premier League and East London club, most recently reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League.

David Boleyn has a long association with the Hammers, having grown up across the field. at Green Street, and represented the club at the junior level. He always wanted what was best for West Ham United and his passing is a great loss for us all.
Gould also oversaw the move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016. He made his first foray into football alongside Sullivan with Birmingham City and the pair sold the club in 2009 before buying West Ham. Manager David Moyes added.
“I am deeply saddened to hear this news and on behalf of all the players on the training ground, my deepest sympathies to the family of David Gould at this difficult time. “Mr. Gold is a regular visitor to Rush Green and has always been a source of great support and encouragement to myself and the players.
It is clear that he has a genuine and sincere love for the club and is a true supporter at heart. He is interested in the people working behind the scenes and is always keen to help in any way he can. A West Ham statement said.
“The thoughts and heartfelt condolences of everyone at West Ham United go out to David Gold’s two daughters Jacqueline and Vanessa, his fiancée Leslie and all his family and friends at a very sad time.” Birmingham later released a statement.

And Vanessa and his fiancée Leslie at this difficult time.” Off the pitch, Gold on Summers is owned by the parent company ‘Gold Group International’. His family fortune is estimated at £460 million in 2020.
