Pop singer Aaron Carter accidentally drowned after taking traditional medicine and huffing chemicals, according to an autopsy report released Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. Carter, a 34-time house babysitter, was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her home in Lancaster, California on November 5. The house babysitter was told to perform CPR until paramedics arrived on the scene, at which point he was.
Officials said he was dead. According to the autopsy report, Carter was unconscious after drinking difluoroethane and taking alprazolam. Difluoroethane is a compressed gas often incorporated into menage products such as spray cleansers and alprazolam is the generic form of Xanax. Carter “became incapacitated by the effects of the medication while in the bathtub, slipped below the surface of the water, and eventually drowned,” the report said.
